Upcoming Events
Here are a few upcoming actions by Indivisible Chicago Northwest (ICNW) and Indivisible Chicago that are related to stories we have posted:
🏳️⚧️ The US v. Skrmetti Supreme Court decision came out on June 18. On Saturday, June 21, Indivisible Chicago will gather at Federal Plaza at 12 PM for a peaceful protest organized by Trans Up Front IL, ACLU, Lambda Legal, HRC and a coalition of other supporting community organizations fighting for LGBTQ+ rights and freedoms.
💔 Unfortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that Tennessee should be allowed to proceed with its discriminatory ban on access to gender-affirming care for youth in the state.
💙 We are proud and grateful to live in the sanctuary state of IL, where parents and doctors have the freedom and rights to make decisions for their children and patients so they can live authentic and full lives.
✊ Now is the time to stand up and hit the streets to stand with trans and gender nonconforming youth and show the country that access to lifesaving healthcare is vital!
Photo Booth for Freedom: A #DisappearedinAmerica Action
Hosted by ICNW in solidarity with #DisappearedinAmerica
- Thursday, June 26 (8:30 – 10:30am CDT)
- Independence Park (3945 N Springfield Ave)
The #DisappearedinAmerica campaign is calling for a "photo petition," creating real-world visibility for the victims of the lawless detentions being executed by the federal government.
At our "photobooth," participants will check in and have their individual or small-group photo taken while holding a poster depicting one of the victims of the administration's campaign of disappearances.
Photos will be collected, released on ICNW social media (Instagram and BlueSky), and shared with local media. The whole process should take just a few minutes, so please stop by and join us.
One option to make your photo special is to wear your work clothes (whether it's a suit and tie or scrubs and a stethoscope, hard hat and boots, or uniform and nametag), or bring a small group with you.
Veterans are invited to wear their uniforms or show off gear from their current or former units, if they are comfortable doing so.
Stay tuned for more storytelling events soon!
